The 2013 Mercedez-Benz GLK looks to be a hit among Mercedes Benz enthusiasts world wide. Not only does Mercedez-Benz claim this model to have much more elegant handling abilities than previous versions of this model, but it will have a much more preppy engine, featuring a 3.5 liter V^ engine that can produce 273 lb-ft of torque power. This is the first SUV produced by Mercedes-Benz that has a torque and horsepower on parallel with its sedan models. This SUV is also on par with the much hyped diesel powered prototype model that was geared in previous years for the US market – the GLK 250 Bluetec. The entire dashboard interphase on the 2013 model has undergone a renovation. The dashboard is no longer made of plastic, but is precisely chiseled out of a walnut metallic sheet metal. This provides a much more elegant and prestigious interphase than in previous models. Circular, designer air vents are also placed on the console region of the vehicle, which gives the interior a unique flavor. The manual transmission shift stick has also been moved from the central console to behind the steering wheel as paddle shifters.
The exterior of the vehicle also proves to be equally elegant as previous models. Not only do the LED lights come standard with the 2013 Mercedez-Benz GLK, but even the rear license plate comes standard with built in LED flares. The wheel base continues to feature SUV standard 19 and 20 inch wheel models. The rims come standard with MercedesBenz classic 5 spoke designs. The 2013 Mercedez-Benz GLK also continues the heritage of safety that has now become standard on Mercedez Benz vehicles. When a driver becomes drowsy, the car automatically recognizes this and ensures that the vehicle is maintaining a proper path on the road. Built in, are also 9 air bags that span all the way back to the passenger seats, protecting all members in the vehicle. While the blind spot detection integration comes optional for the GLK 2013, it can be purchased as an accessory features on certain models. The 2013 Mercedez-Benz GLK release date has been set for sometime in summer 2012, but may be delayed until the 2013 calendar year due to budget cuts and the European economy. Many early critics have stated that fuel efficiency is a critical flaw of the GLK, however the gains in power and torque far outweigh any potential pitfalls of poor fuel economy. Mercedez Benz states that pricing for the vehicle will begin later in the summer. This report on the 2013 Mercedez-Benz GLK release date remains optimistic for a 2012 release.
